In 1973, VIF Plastics began manufacturing molds in a location of 1.800 square feet. Gradually, managers saw the necessity of proceeding to their own mold tests and of offering the service of molding by injection. In 1980, VIF Plastics moved into new premises and purchased 4 injection presses.
3 years later, a large expansion in the molding sector forced the injection department to move into larger premises. 4 new injection presses were added to existing ones. In 1986, the mold manufacturing workshop and the department of molding by injection were reunited in the office located in Saint-Hyacinthe.
The company, always devoted to meet and go beyond expectations and requirements of its clients, registered in 1999. 3 years later, VIF Plastics owned 15 injection presses, including 3 robotic systems and modern equipments for mold design and manufacturing.
A new facility of 80.000 square feet was built in 2005. The next year, Thierry Carrière acquired the company. In 2008, the pool product sector was added to the expertise with the creation of Carvin, the affiliated company.
FROM 2012 UNTIL TODAY
In 2012, 40.000 square feet were added to the facility, reaching 120.000 square feet in total. 3 years later, the company Armotec was bought, giving the go-ahead in the furniture and office product sector. Today, VIF Plastics owns 23 injection presses from 40 to 2.000 tons in locking force and has 4 workshifts working 24 hours per day, 6 days per week.
VIF Plastics reuses the plastic rejected to mold it again. As an eco-friendly company, VIF is devoted to lower its ecological footprint. Here are other improvements we made over the years:
- Closed water supply
- Environmental studies in 2006 and 2011
- Granulators at each press
- T8 fluorescent lamp with motion detectors
- Reuse of press heat for the whole facility’s heating
- Water cooling tower for naturel cool down
